Scholarship

WCJLS Scholarship Rules

Requirements:

1. Applicant must validate a project in the Wood County Junior Livestock Show to be held in April of the year they are to graduate to be eligible.

2. Grades used will be from the most current Grading Period.

3. No financial data will be required of applicants.

4. Applicant may major in any field of study in college, vocational/trade schools. This will not be limited to Agriculture or Ag-related majors.

5. Recipients must attend two consecutive semesters of college and will receive 1/2 of their scholarship money after providing the required items for each semester listed in #9.

6. The number of scholarships and amount awarded will be determined by the WCJLS Scholarship Committee.

7. The Scholarship will be presented to the recipient at their school's graduation ceremonies in May.

8. All scholarship applications will be hand delivered by the last Tuesday in April following the Show, to the extension office on or before said date. No applications submitted by mail will be accepted.

9. All recipients awarded scholarships must send copies of registration, student ID, name and address of school attending to P.O. Box 922 Mineola, TX 75773 by September 30 following their graduation.

10. To receive scholarship funds for the 2nd semester, applicants must send in copies of registration, student id, name and address of school attending and a copy of the 1st semester grades by March 1st.

11. Official name of the scholarship is to be "Wood County Junior Livestock Show Scholarship."

12. If the recipient does not send in the required information to receive funds for their first semester, then they forfeit the 2nd half of their scholarship also.

13. Recipients must maintain a GPA of 2.0 overall for the first semester to receive scholarship funds the 2nd Semester.

14. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the student or the school/university for credit to the recipient's student account.
